Remedy
In 1992, USEPA issued a Record of Decision selecting the remedy to address onsite impacts to soil and groundwater, and off-site groundwater migration. The major components of the remedy include:
- Continued operation of the ground water pump and treatment system initially installed as an Interim Remedial Action.
- Groundwater monitoring of the surficial, intermediate and Floridan aquifers.
- Monitoring of residential wells immediately to the east of the Site.
- Continued operation of the Floridan aquifer water supply well and the associated treatment system for the capture and treatment of any impacted groundwater.
- Use of institutional controls to prohibit residential use of the property, restrict groundwater use, and control the disturbance or relocation of on-site soils.
In 1997, USEPA issued a ROD related to sediment in Lake Miller, located on the property. In the ROD, USEPA determined that no cleanup action was required to address sediment in Lake Miller.
